Interview Skills

Learning Outcomes

Students will develop an awareness of, and/or skills in:

  • understanding the main qualities, attitudes and skills needed to enter and thrive in the working world
  • completing application procedures for work placements, part-time jobs, post-16 & HE opportunities, including preparing a CV
  • presenting themselves at an interview
  • analysing their learning within the curriculum and how it can be applied to work contexts
  • understanding the importance to employers of skills, attitudes & qualifications


Description of activity

Bespoke alternative

students apply for a generic position completing paperwork 4 weeks prior to the event.

interviews can focus on specified sectors as requested by the school eg. construction, hair & beauty or post 16/HE opportunities

students meet local employers recruited and briefed by the EBP

students are interviewed individually (groups of 4/5)

students debriefed on quality of paperwork and performance

a motivational speaker will open or conclude the programme
