Learning Outcomes

Students will develop an awareness of, and/or skills in:

  • demonstrating innovative approaches to solving problems
  • giving examples of rights & responsibilities at work, work roles & identities, and attitudes & values in relation to work and enterprise

Description of activity

the co-ordinating teacher will undertake a Professional Development Placement to design a ‘real’ work based assignment around solving a business problem. This assignment has to meet the specific criteria of a KS4 or Post 16 qualification

where appropriate an employee from the linked company will visit the school to brief the students emphasising the authentic nature of the assignment based on the business problem

students, acting as consultants, will visit the company and conduct research to complete their assignment over a period specified by the teacher

students will present their findings/conclusions to a panel of representatives from the company as part of their assignment
